DIY Tiling – The Necessary Tools

DIY tiling requires not only patience and some skill, but more importantly, a set of appropriate tools will ensure that your floors will have a professional and elegant finish. These tools can either be bought or rented.

Diamond Wheel Cutter

A diamond wheel cutter can incise almost any kind of tile with minimum effort. These wonderful apparatus will cut all porcelain, natural stone, ceramic and even glass tiles. Flatbed Tile Cutters

Flat bed tile cutters are the speediest way to incise porcelain and ceramic tiles. Tile File

A tile file is usually fashioned out of aluminum oxide and a very important piece of equipment. Tiles which are incised would mostly have rough edges. In order for the pieces to fit well unto a floor, these rough edges need to be filed using a tile file.

Tile Saw

Tile saws are used to cut ceramic tiles and can be purchased quite cheaply. Normal tile saws are equipped with deep frames which facilitate cuts in ceramic tiles. The blades of tile saws are generally made of tungsten carbide.

Diamond Coated Drills

Diamond coated drill bits can be utilized on any kind of stone and will effortlessly drill holes in porcelain, glass or marble. For drilling into tough materials, this machine is your best bet. This apparatus has no arbors, which makes it convenient for overlapped cuts if required. It is best to incise tiles before they are fixed, and also pivotal that sufficient water is used to calm the drill bit.
